Crime and Injustice

Edvin Johnson, 19, dies after stabbing attack

Edvin Johnson

On the evening of Sunday 16 September, 19-year-old Edvin was attacked and stabbed in the leg near the Crawford Estate, Camberwell, south-east London. He was taken to King's College hospital but later died. A post-mortem examination revealed that he died from a single stab wound to his leg.

Genevieve Johnson, Edvin’s mother, said: "Whoever murdered my son needs to be accountable for their crime. They should not go unpunished. Edvin was a warm, generous, loving and kind hearted son. He was the centre of my life and his death has left a big hole in my life. I am devastated and beside myself with grief. How do I go on?"

Two 18-year-old men have been arrested and bailed in connection with his death.
