Crime and Injustice

18-year-old, Philip Poru killed in car shooting

Philip Poru

Philip Poru was shot and killed at approximately 10pm on Sunday 14 October in Plumstead, south-east London as he sat in a car with a friend. His friend was also seriously injured but remained in a stable condition. It is believed that they were approached by two men who demanded to know what area they were from. When they stated that they were from Peckham, the men proceeded to produce a firearm and shoot at them.

Philip was a Kingston University student who had just begun studying for his joint honours degree in media and cultural studies with television and new broadcasting media.
