Gary Guthrie, 35, shot in Streatham High Road

Gary Guthrie was shot in the early hours of Monday 22 October in Streatham High Road. He was taken to Mayday Hospital where he later died. A post-mortem at Greenwich Mortuary revealed that Mr Guthrie died from a single bullet to the chest. His friend, who was also injured in the attack, was in a comfortable condition in hospital. Police believe that people who were in the Starlight Rooms on Streatham High Road may hold crucial information about the murder. A handgun and bullet casings were discovered at the scene.

A postmortem examination held at Greenwich Mortuary on Tuesday showed Mr Guthrie, from Lakeview Road, West Norwood, died from a single bullet wound to the chest. Officers say they believe partygoers who were at the Starlight Rooms on Streatham High Road on Sunday may hold vital clues. A handgun and bullet casings have been recovered at the scene and nine people have been arrested in connection with the investigation.

Nine people were arrested subsequently in connection with the incident.
