25-year-old Lucas Ramabi stabbed to death in Hull

On 4 December 2007, the body of South African, Lucas Ramabi was found at his girlfriend’s house in Hull after being fatally and repeatedly stabbed. A post mortem examination revealed that Lucas had been stabbed 15 times in the chest and abdomen. His girlfriend, Nomusa Muhlwa, was also stabbed in the arm during the same attack which took place in front of her two children thought to be aged 4 and 8. It is believed that Nomusa ran screaming to get help from neighbours who called the emergency services.
Angolan national and undergraduate, Etiene Vidal Puna, 22, from Hardy Street, Hull has been charged with Lucas’ murder and with grievous bodily harm with intent for the assault on his 25-year-old girlfriend. Nomusa was Etiene’s former girlfriend but had ended the relationship with him in August.
25-year-old, Komi Mosho, a close friend of the family, said that South African tradition determined that Lucas’s body be buried in his homeland for which they were trying to raise funds.
