40-year-old Kellie Telesford found strangled at home in Thornton Heath

Kayiode Dexter-Telesford

Kayiode Dexter-Telesford, better known as transsexual Kellie Telesford was discovered in his home on Wednesday 21 November in Leander Road, Thornton Heath. Kayiode had been living as a woman for a number of years.

Detective Chief Inspector Cliff Lyons, from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command said: "We would also like to speak to anyone who knew or who has had a relationship with Kellie to help us build a picture of her lifestyle. We know she went to venues popular with the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities, in particular in the Croydon and Brixton area.”

Shanniel Hyatt from Thornton Heath appeared before Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 1 December charged with Kayiode’s murder. A 20-year-old woman who had also been arrested in connection with the incident was released on police bail until January.
