17-year-old student, Biendi Litambola beaten to death

On the 18 November 2007, the body of Biendi ‘Bobby’ Litambola was discovered at approximately 9.50am on Munday Street, Canning Town, east London. Police stated that Biendi, who had come to Britain from the Democratic Republic of Congo in 1991, had been “assaulted”. A post-mortem examination at East Ham mortuary has proved inconclusive and police claim to remain open minded about the motive. 20-year-old Sammy Litambola, Biendi’s brother said, "I'll miss a big part of me, probably one of the biggest parts of my life. I can't remember him not ever being there… He did not get a chance to ripen, to grow. He was still young — he hadn’t even got a beard.”
Three teenagers were arrested in connection with the incident but later released without charge. 22-year-old Larry Morrison and his brother Michael, 21, both from Clements Avenue, Canning Town appeared at Redbridge Magistrates’ Court on 21 November 2007 charged with murdering Biendi.
