BBC sack another African presenter

Another BBC casualty: Robert Beckford

Yet another BBC employee faced the backhand of the Corporation as Robert Beckford became the latest presenter to be forced from a front-line broadcasting role, following the recent sacking of Moira Stuart as the Sunday AM newscaster last month. Former BBC West Midlands Community Affairs reporter, Vernon Graham summed up the views of many African people in the community when he said; "It's sad to see Sunday morning presenter Dr Robert Beckford leave the BBC, but it's not as bad as listening to the corporation continue to pretend they have any interest in being fair to black people.” Vernon also highlighted the institutionalised policy of BBC management who deliberately block the career progression of the African people it employs whilst promoting non-African staff with less ability.
