15-year-old Adam Regis stabbed to death in east London

At about 9.30pm on Thursday 17 March 2007, Adam Regis was stabbed and killed as he was on his way home from the cinema in Upton Park, east London. Police believe that he was stabbed in the chest from behind with a sword or knife as he talked to his girlfriend on his mobile. Detectives at a press conference in June confirmed that Adam had accompanied his other friends home before the “unprovoked, gratuitous and random attack” against him. His body was found at the junction of Kingsland Road and Boundary Road by two young people and 59-year-old Sandra Wynands who discovered Adam slumped on the floor in a pool of blood.
CCTV footage shows five young men in a Volkswagen Scirocco in the area where Adam was killed. Two of the cars occupants are believed to have followed Adam seconds before he was stabbed. They then returned to the car occupied by the three other men and all five drove off.
Fourteen people have been arrested in connection with his murder, five of whom have been bailed and the nine others released without charge.
