Michael Dosunmu, 15, killed as he slept

Shot as he slept: Schoolboy Michael Dosunmu

On Tuesday 6th February, just days after Archbishop Michael Ramsey School pupil, Michael Dosunmu celebrated his 15th birthday two gunmen broke into his home in Diamond Street, Peckham and shot him with a Mac 10 Machine gun, known for its ability to fire a thousand rounds in a minute. The killers had initially entered the bedroom of his 20-year-old sister, Lola but she pretended to be asleep to escape harm. She later attempted to give her brother first aid after he was shot. She said; “I did CPR for him, I did it for the 15 times I put air in his mouth, nothing. I did it again. I was just screaming. “I said, ‘Michael, you can’t leave me like this. Michael, Michael, Michael, wake up, wake up’, but he didn’t respond.” Michael died shortly after arriving at King’s College Hospital.

Mohammed Sannoh, 18, and Abdi Omar Noor, 21 have been charged with his murder. Both deny killing Michael and possessing a submachine pistol with intent to endanger life. They were remanded in custody and are due to go on trial in April 2008.
