Craig Thoms, 28, found with fatal gunshot wounds in Hackney

At approximately 5.30am on Saturday 17 February, 28-year-old Craig Thoms was discovered in his car outside Eko restaurant in Homerton High Street, Hackney with fatal gunshot wounds. He was taken to Homerton hospital but died 15 minutes later. Police were said to be looking for two men of African appearance who were heading towards Digby Road. Describing the incident, Detective Superintendent Gary Richardson from Operation Trident said; "Almost immediately he [Craig Thoms] was approached by two gunmen who opened fire. He immediately put the vehicle into reverse and drove some 80 metres up the road, being chased by the two gunmen. The vehicle crashed into a parked vehicle. He attempted to get out and was immediately attacked again by the two gunmen who shot him in the street… [this was] clearly a targeted incident where this individual was picked out".
