Adornment: Thousands attend Europe’s largest Expo for African cultural and creative sector

This month saw Europe’s largest cultural expo, Adornment take place at Battersea Evolution on Sunday 8th and Monday 9th April. The event is the biggest showcase for the African creative, business and ethical sector, attracting over 150 exhibitors and 12,000 visitors. As well as the numerous exhibitors, Adornment also hosted 40 workshops and demonstrations including Educating through Culture, the Art of Braiding and Financing Your Business.
Musician, writer and entrepreneur, Erykah Badu was the Ambassador for the event this year and was presented with an award for her African centred style and her commitment to community development. The Adornment organisation is a non-profit entity that continues to work throughout the year to develop, build, support and provide a much needed platform for African influenced cultural and creative businesses.
